Return to Event

Science Under the Dome is back for the fall 2017 semester! We have monthly talks lined up for September – December.

Join us Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. for Drones and social science: the sky's the limit!

Presented by Jon Carroll

Social scientists use unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for all kinds of research, from archaeological mapping to the evaluation of farming patterns, mosquito breeding locations and urban planning. Professor Jon Carroll (Oakland University) will discuss his own archaeological research and ways that others in the social sciences have incorporated these tools and their high-resolution imaging abilities into their work.
