This training session is designed to equip child welfare workers with the tools and insights necessary to foster equity and inclusion in their practice. The trainer will facilitate an engaging discussion on racial biases, encouraging participants to reflect on their personal experiences through interactive activities. Participants will then explore the concepts of microtriggers and microaggressions, gaining a clearer understanding of how these behaviors manifest in child welfare settings. The session will culminate with actionable strategies to dismantle systemic barriers, challenge stereotypes, and promote fairness, cultural understanding, and trauma-informed care. By embracing anti-racism, child welfare workers can drive meaningful change, empowering marginalized communities and fostering a more just and inclusive system. This training aims to inspire attendees to integrate these principles into their daily interactions and decision-making processes.
