8th Annual WSU Social Work Research Symposium

Return to Event

Join us for an afternoon celebrating Social Work Warrior research!

The Wayne State University Center for Social Work Research invites community members, students, faculty, and staff to an engaging reception showcasing research projects across a range of focal areas including criminal justice, behavioral health, community change, and much more! This event highlights how social work research is deeply connected to everyday life, influencing policies, practices, and communities.

Presenters will share projects at various stages—some fully developed, others still in progress—offering a unique opportunity for discussion, collaboration, and inspiration. Whether you're a researcher, practitioner, or simply curious about the impact of social work, we encourage you to attend, connect, and explore the many ways social work research is shaping our world.

We request that attendees complete the RSVP to help us gauge the number of refreshments needed. Please feel free to bring a friend(s) and complete the RSVP on their behalf (names are not necessary, just a headcount).

Calling all Social Work Students! WSU Social Work students are encouraged to grab a slice at the Pizza with a Dean event occuring in the SSW Community Room on March 26th from 10:45 - 11:45 am and then attend the 8th Annual WSU Social Work Research Symposium to chat with fellow students about their research and ways to get involved.
