In celebration of the Grosscup Museum of Anthropology's 60th Anniversary, we present a new exhibit, The Secret Life of Things: Sixty Years of Museum Anthropology at Wayne State University. Opening on November 8, 2018, the anniversary exhibit features 60 notable objects from the Museum's vaults that reflect the breadth and depth of this institution's global collections, local history, and associated personalities. As an assemblage, these 60 objects showcase the diversity of cultures, technologies, and histories represented in the Museum's extensive ethnographic, archaeological, and archival collections.
Since its founding in 1958 the Museum of Anthropology has hosted numerous exhibits and provided hands-on research and training opportunities for generations of students, faculty, and community members. Please join us in celebrating the longstanding contributions of the Museum to the Wayne State University and Metro Detroit communities.
Following the opening of The Secret Life of Things exhibit, the Museum gallery will be open to visitors Tu-Th 10am-5pm, Friday 12-8pm and by appointment. There is no charge for admission.
