Career Development Workshop for Associate Professors (Part 1)

The Provost’s Office is offering a new career development workshop to support Associate Professors as they plan the next stages of their careers (e.g., promotion to Professor, taking on leadership roles as faculty in the discipline or the university, becoming a master teacher). The workshop consists of two sessions, each 1.5 hours long. This session will cover Part 1 of the workshop series.

Part 1: Where are you now and where are you going?

Purpose: Articulate the importance of choosing meaningful professional activities to support your career goals.

Activity: Self-assessment exercises and small group discussion

Participants will:

  1. Identify the professional and career goals that are personally meaningful to you,
  2. Evaluate the alignment between your current activities and the activities required to achieve your career goals,
  3. Identify resources (i.e., people, trainings, information, skills) to support your career success.
