Harold Koh: The Trump Administration and International Law

Return to Event

Professor Harold Hongju Koh will discuss his book The Trump Administration and International Law, which discusses why Trump, in his first two years, is not "winning" in his effort to resign the U.S. from global leadership, and how the resistance is blunting his initiatives. His book also offers a counter-strategy to preserve the rule of law against the Trump Administration's many initiatives to change the nature of America's relationship with international law and its institutions.

Koh is the Sterling Professor of International Law at Yale Law School and its former dean. He served as legal advisor to the State Department from 2009-13 and is one of the country’s leading experts in public and private international law, national security law and human rights.

Lunch will be provided at this event.

This event is presented by the Program for International Legal Studies.
