RAD Advanced: Key chain defense options

The Wayne State University Police Department will host the Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) System’s Key Chain Defense Options course for women on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  

The R.A.D. Keychain Defense Options (one 4 hour session) is one of the only realistic and court-defensible impact weapons programs available to the general public. Realistic employment, combat effectiveness, “light impact” and fluid transactions, are all part of this program. This course revolves around the Kubaton in conjunction with weapon enhanced physical skills  You will keep the Kubaton you train with during the class.

RAD classes are open to women only. Husbands, boyfriends or other males will not be allowed to attend or view this "for women only" training. Persons interested in this RAD Key Chain Defense Options course classes must have previously taken the RAD Basic class prior to this course as you will be building upon the techniques, skills, and tactics you learned in the RAD Basic Woman's Self Defense class.

The RAD Key Chain Defense Options course costs $20.00 per participant for the four-hour class. Payment is required at time of registration, or, if you register by email, you can bring payment with you to the class. Sorry, but we do not have the equipment to accept electronic debit, credit, or OneCard swipe payments. We can accept cash or checks, payable to 'Wayne State University Police'.

You must register in advance to ensure your enrollment. There are no walk-in enrollments the night of the class.

Class size is limited to the first 20 registered participants. To register: please bring your $20 registration fee and your WSU OneCard ID, to the Records Section of the Wayne State Police Department, located at 6050 Cass Avenue at Burroughs, two blocks north of the Ford Freeway. (Feel free to park in the 'Police Only Zone' in front of the building as the course registration will only take a couple of minutes). OR, if you prefer, simply click the RSVP button and we will send you a registration form by email. 

WSUPD Records Section Office Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Registrations for this upcoming RAD Key Chain Options Defense class will be accepted until 4:00 pm on Monday, August 19th, 2019 unless the class fills to capacity before that time.
