Transgender Medicine: Providing Better and More Inclusive Care

Panelists LaTonya Riddle-Jones, M.D. '08, Res. '12, Medical Director of Corktown Health Clinic, Dana Kabbani, M.D., Res. '21, and Jay Fallon, MSW '13, will discuss care for transgender patients in medicine and establishing better and inclusive care. The panel will be moderated by Nabil Al-Kourainy, M.D. '16, Res. '21.

Objectives:

• Promoting emotional wellness within the LGBTQ community

• Increase knowledge and practical use of conscious language in the delivery of empathetic and non-stigmatizing LGBTQ patient care

• Increase knowledge of the transgender community and specific health disparities

• Keys to establishing an inclusive environment

• Hormone therapy management - physiologic impact of both masculinizing and feminizing hormones

• Key components of the transgender patient physical exam
